Apply to the Royal Oak Chess Citizenship Academy!We will be offering a 10-week leadership development experience for youth in grades 7-10 (ages 12-16) focused on leadership, community building, organizing, problem solving and project management through chess! Youth will learn how to start their own chess clubs, how to take their chess play to the next level, and how to influence the culture of their communities through chess!
The sessions will take place on Saturdays, January 22-April 2, from 11:00am-2:00pm at St. Stephen’s Community House. We will only have space for 20 participants and so we are asking all interested youth to apply no later than Thursday, January 20, 8:00pm. |

Preference will be given for youth in the 43211 and 43224 zip codes.We are having an Open House and Information Session on Saturday, January 15, from 11:00am-1:00pm at St. Stephen’s Community House. Interested youth and community members may attend to play some chess, learn how to play, and learn more about the program! Let’s make moves!
